About

Better pet parenting. Better coexistence.

About Living Together

Living Together is an educational platform dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership, respectful community living, and safer interactions between people and animals.

Our goal is simple: to make reliable, practical, and balanced information accessible to everyone—whether you’re a pet owner, someone who has never owned a pet, a parent, a resident, or simply someone who wants to better understand the world we all share.

We believe that stronger communities are built not by taking sides, but by encouraging understanding, responsibility, and mutual respect.

Why Living Together Exists

Communities are becoming more diverse than ever before. People with different lifestyles, experiences, and expectations now share the same parks, apartment buildings, streets, and neighbourhoods. Among them are pet owners, non-pet owners, children, older adults, and community animals—all navigating the same shared spaces.

Unfortunately, many disagreements arise not because people intend to cause harm, but because of misunderstandings, misinformation, or a lack of awareness about what responsible behaviour looks like.

For example, a pet owner may not realise how an unleashed dog or excessive barking affects neighbours. At the same time, someone unfamiliar with animal behaviour may misinterpret a dog’s actions or assume that every community animal is dangerous. These situations often create unnecessary fear, frustration, and conflict.

Living Together was created to bridge this gap through practical, evidence-based guidance that helps people make informed decisions and build more respectful communities.

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster communities where people and animals can coexist safely, respectfully, and responsibly through practical, accessible, and evidence-based education.

Rather than telling people what to think, we aim to provide the knowledge and tools that help them make informed choices, understand different perspectives, and contribute positively to the communities they live in.

What We Believe

At Living Together, our work is guided by a few simple beliefs.

  • Responsible pet ownership benefits not only pets but also families, neighbours, and communities.
  • Every person deserves to feel safe and respected in shared public spaces.
  • Compassion and responsibility should always go hand in hand.
  • Education and awareness are more effective than conflict or blame.
  • Better communities are built when people understand one another and work together.

These beliefs shape every guide, article, and resource we publish.
